can I use smaller sized buffing wheel?

Can I use a smaller sized buffing wheel other than 8". I will be using this in my jewellery shop and I need smaller wheels. I was thinking 4" or 6" max. sized diameter wheels.

A smaller wheel could be used with the Wel-Bilt 8" Benchtop Buffer as long as if used the same size arbor(5/8"). Northern Tool does sell a 6" benchtop buffer as well. See link below.

it states a 5/8" arbor....is the arbor removable that I can place a tapered 5/8" arbor instead if I don't want to use a straight shaft?

This benchtop buffer doesn't state a specific polishing compound that's to be used with it. Northern Tool recommends checking with the manufacturer of the item/tool to be polished as to what compound is best for that tool.
