answer 2
The stove pipe connects to the lower left side if looking at the back of stove. It comes straight out the back and you will need a 3 inch tee with a cleanout.
The opening of the fireplace needs to be 24 inches high by 40 inches wide and 20 inches deep.

the unit (6041) gets the fresh air from the back of the stove, you will need to run a line all the way up the chimney and have a nice radius at the top to prevent the weather from clogging your fresh air, before hooking the unit up, look in the back of your stove through the cut outs and see if the fresh air is hooked up inside. you might run the fresh air line perfectly to the stove but it won't be hooked up inside. you can also run the fresh air line down to the chimney clean out box if disired. I hope this was helpful...

Question

Piping to exhaust

Currently we have a gas insert stove in our house. The fume piping goes up through the middle of the house for that stove. Can you use the same piping to install this type of stove or do you have to change stove piping specific to a pellet/corn stove? The stack we have now currently has a bend to it. Do they make stoves that exhaust from left, middle or right side of stove?

most gas stoves use a type "B" pipe which is not recomended for pellet stoves. pellet stoves have a certified UL double walled pipe. you can have bends in this pipe but the less you have the better. try not to exceed more than two 90 degree pipes 45's are fine. if your piping is too exceed 12' you need to go to a 4" pipe. most stoves exhaust in the same location.

Pellet and corn stoves require different venting than what is required for a gas stove. We offer a pellet venting kit. See link below for more details. Please check with your local codes and ordinances for installation requirements in your area.
