Yes. I pull it with a 24 hp lawn tractor. I don't think it would take that big of a tractor to pull it though. That is just what I have.

I want to be able to raise and lower the tines to cross a sidewalk or transport the aerator with punching holes.

This Ohio Steel Plug Aerator comes with a foot lever on the back of this to lower and raise the tines while in transport.

sure you just have to get off rotate the handle and then once across lower the tines back down

Yes. Pulling the handle towards you will lower the wheels, forcing the spoons off the ground.

You can back up with Aerator in down position. Aerate in straight lines whenever possible and avoid sharp turns.
