You can't cut the blanket. It will void the warranty and good chance you will cut into the electrical ciruits inside. Better to order the correct size to begin with. Powerblanket has several sizes to choose from from 2x2 to 11x23 and several sizes inbetween. Hope this helps.

No, do not cut it. I prefer a blanket that heats the entire engine compartment like the EH0405.

temp of heaters

how hot do these heater get? do they have an internal thermostat? if i leave on a truck all week will this effect my oil?

The manufacturer states there are too many variables to give a temperature to these heaters. These heaters do not have an internal thermostat. If left on the vehicle all week it will not affect your oil, these heaters are not strong enough to boil oil.

Gets pretty warm, but not warmer that what your engine would experience in the summer months. Won't affect oil or break-down fluids. Keeping on overnight or for several days in a row will be fine. Designed to heat entire engine compartment and reduce sold-start wear and tare. It's very durable. Hope this helps.

I know I have to unplug it to drive, but do I have to put my OEM dipstick back in to drive the car?

You would need to remove the oil heater dipstick and put your standard dipstick back in to drive the vehicle.

yes. it's kind of a pain. I prefer a heater that heats the entire engine compartment like the Powerblanket EH0405.

This engine oil heater should work with your small engine, remember the heating element on this is 24 inches long so it may stick out some.
