Staff Answer
The SureCare™ Battery Maintainer is safe to use indoors. Batteries can emit very low levels of gas, but the maintainer would not contribute anything additional to what may escape naturally.

I've used this a number of times inside my garage and haven't noticed any smell. If you're worried about gas or fumes keep all sources of ignition away and run a small fan. Yeah, this will work on a motorcycle.

This unit will work on a generator battery. If you have any trouble when you connect it, remove the cables for the generator starter. Clamps up just like jumper cables. Black on black, red on red.
