The Standby Generator Model # 5871 does shut off automatically. When the power returns the generator will begin the cool down cycle same as the start up cycle.

Yes, It will automatically shut off once the power has returned. It does not shut off instantly, rather it shuts off after the power returns with adequate and steady voltage. That can sometimes take a few minutes.

There is a built-in exercise timer, but it is in the generator controller. The generator exercises once per week, and you can schedule when that occurs—even overnight, if you prefer. The generator also has a battery charger built into the controller that ensures the battery remains charged and ready for generator operation.

The composite mounting pad on the 10kW has a length of approximately 48 inches, a width of approximately 25 inches, and a height of approximately 2 inches. The composite mounting pad is part of the enclosure and can be placed directly onto a bed of pea gravel or a concrete slab for proper installation of the unit.

This generator is not warranted for off grid applications. Please see below for item# 14750 which is a generator engineered and warranted specifically for off grid use.

You would need to add up the wattage requirements of the appliances that you are going to run on the generator to determine the wattage generator you would need to purchase.
