This Powerhorse Chipper/Shredder is not recommended for this application. If used for shredding moldy hay it would void manufacture warranty.

As this chipper will only handle up to 3" diameter branches it would not be able to take the 4" slab. You would either need to cut them down to a smaller width or get a chipper that would handle larger pieces.

This will come out of a 1.5 inch hole. It does not specify how finely this will be chipped it would depend on the wood. The hole is about the size of a 50 cent piece.

Id have to take a picture, but Id say its nice for plant beds. Its not super fine, but not chunky at all. Its very consistent with anything you throw in it. Of course smaller material, you may have finer mulch

answer 3
The shredder part actually makes too small of pieces to use for mulch unless you blend it with wood chips from the chipper. If you want to use the shredded output for compost that should do you well.

I dont think its clutch driven. You turn it on, rev it up and off it goes. I think it drive runs when you start the engine. It does have a belt (although have not looked at it)
