No it does not! It also does not have a fuel gauge on it either.

I investigated buying an hour meter that could be installed on the unit.

This generator has a noise rating of 75 dB. There is not a kit, or other means that we offer that would further quiet this unit.

It is around 78 to 80 db. Unit is pretty loud if within 50 ft. Most high output gensets are this loud unless it is very expensive honda's or such. You may be able to put bigger muffler on unit but muffler is pretty big and you have to have certain back pressure so be careful!

Question

Is it okay to run this generator in the rain and snow?

I know it seems like a silly question as you are not to run these in an enclosed space. It just seems to me with no outlet covers that if rain water gets in these plugs you'll short this puppy out or at least trip the breakers. Thanks

No, The Powerhorse generators can not be exposed to rain, snow, or direct sunlight.

However, You may operate the generator under an outdoor, canopy-like structure of heat-resistant material that is open on all sides. Make sure that all parts of canopy are at least 7 feet from exhaust, and allow for adequate clearance above generator so that heat does not build up.

answer 2
You should not run it in the rain and snow. If possible, just build a small shelter for the unit to protect it from weather. But, still leave room on top of the unit to disperse heat and exhaust.

The Powerhorse 9000 Watt Generator does not come without an electric start. The unit does, however, have a recoil(pull) start as well, and can be started manually or electrically.

Yes, just pull the cord and it will start. Later on, if you want to buy a battery, you can use it to start it as well. This unit has the best of both worlds.

On the Powerhorse 9000, both plugs can be used at the same time, but not at full 30 amp capacity. The maximum rated(running) wattage for this unit is 7250. Watts = amps x volts. Running a 30 amp draw at 240 volts = 7200 watts. 30 amps at 120 volts =3600 watts. You can use both at the same time, but only if the draw from the items being powered does not exceed 7250 at any one time.

Even with outlet covers, the Powerhorse Portable Generator cannot be used in rain or snow. The engine itself, the generator head, along with other electrical connections are going to be exposed to the elements, making it unsafe.

The Powerhorse 9000 will run on E10(10% Ethanol), and will not affect the performance or warranty of the unit. If possible, we recommend to "exercise" the generator once a month by simply running the unit with a small load for a few minutes. If you need to store the unit long term, simply drain the gas or add fuel stabilizer, and add a little oil to the spark plug chamber, and remove the spark plug wire.

The Powerhorse 9000 only requires fuel stabilizer if you plan to store it long term. We recommend "exercising" the unit once a month by running it for a few minutes with a small load. If you need to store it long term, it can be done with a few simple steps; fuel stabilizer or draining the gas tank, and adding a small amount of oil to the spark plug chamber, then disconnecting the plug wire.

answer 2
Any fuel supply that will remain in storage and unused longer than 30 days should have stabilizer added. This includes fuels tanks on generators. Helps to prevent fuel line and carb build-up.
