On the inside of the side door is a guide that shows you the recommended voltage settings for the material being welded. The speed will vary as well depending on the size of wire that you are operating with.

The setup guide states:
Voltage (Steel) 20 gauge Voltage 2 wire speed 3-4
Voltage (Steel) 18 gauge Voltage 3 wire feed 3-4
Voltage (Steel) 16 gauge Voltage 4 wire feed 4-5
Voltage (Steel) 11 gauge Voltage 4 wire feed 5-6

answer 2
YES. Other than loading the wire into it, you are pretty much ready to go. I love mine. Get some Name Brand wire. You will be amazed at the difference between your welds with the wire that comes with it, and your welds with good wire.

answer 3
Yes and No. The torch polarity should be verified before using. This can be done by opening the side cover, where the wire spool is loaded. The polarity terminals are inside this area, and are clearly marked. There is a guide/instruction label inside the cover to show the proper polarity for gas or gasless welding.

This welder is not set up to be used with any spool gun. We do have a newer model that is spool gun ready. If you have access to 230 volts, we also sell a larger welder packaged with a spool gun. See links below.

Short answer is nothing special should be needed. I have mine plugged into a standard 110 outlet. The panel breaker is a 20 amp since I am using 12/2 wire. I ran the welder and a 500 watt light at the same time with no flickering.

It has an internal rectifier for DC output. Polarity can be reversed for Gas/Gas-less welding. However, this is not an 'inverter type' welder.
