answer 2
It has four sensors that work great in almost any position. I do a lot of out of position welding and have yet to miss an arc. Watch out for flashers on a forklift or whatnot, sets off the auto-dark.

Question

Does this flash you with an inverter TIG machine?

I've was getting flashed with my Inverter TIG machine and cheap auto darkening helmet, which never happened with my old technology TIG machine or wirefeed. Went back to a fixed shade but want to come back to an auto darkening. Does this stay dark when the arc on or does it flash?

answer 2
I have an inverter machine also and I will admit that mine has flashed me too. It is, however minimal so if you are not welding day in and out at work with this hat I think it will probably not bother you too much as it only happens only occasionally.
