It has four sensors that work great in almost any position. I do a lot of out of position welding and have yet to miss an arc. Watch out for flashers on a forklift or whatnot, sets off the auto-dark.

No, it doesn't. depending on the light, you might me able to turn the sensetivty down enough that the sparks dont make it darken.

No it doesn't have a grind mode, you can use a wire wheel but if u use a grinder it will darken as soon as it see's a spark.

Does the Helmet have a Cutting mode or a #5 shade?

Some ADF (Auto Darkening Filters) have a shade 5 mode or are just shade 5 when off. Shade 5 is for Oxy-Fuel cutting or welding.

Is this helmet hard hat compatible?

We use hard hats with accessory slots and we have slot adapters that we can modify if this helmet is appropriate for use with a hard hat. Please advise.
