yes,... but i would cover the switch up it might give you a problems if it gets wet..you might cover with your hand or something like a plastic bag ect.

Question

can it be run directly from a 12 volt source?

I need a spot/search light to use to spot crab pots at night from my boat. Typically the rechargeables only run for less than a half hour and a night run could mean several "out of channel" runs of more than a half hour each, without recharge time in between.

This Northern Industrial super searcheye spotlight will have an average of 20 minutes run time on a single charge. Time may vary depending on beam setting (low or high), temperature, and age of battery.

Does the charger shut off after the battery is full?

Some chargers are "Smart" so they won't over-charge the battery. Is this one of those?

This Northern Industrial Super Spotlight comes with a smart charger, however, we still recommend not leaving it plugged in for an extended amount of time due to possible power surges or other electrical issues unrelated to the product functioning.
