The 10,000 Hour Meter will have a + (positive) and - (negative) terminals on the back of the unit. For negative ground system find positive wire which is hot only when ignition switch is on & connect to + (positive) terminal of hour meter. Connect - (negative) terminal to ground. For positive ground system reverse the above instructions. This unit does not include the leads.

Black to ground and red to anything with 12v. when the engine is running (start switch, key, light, etc.) but NOT direct to the battery.

answer 3
I found a 'hot lead' for power with a power probe at the headlight wire. The other wire was wired to a good ground location. Either wire to the unit was suitable for power source.

answer 2
The meter would be water resistant the way it is but would better if silicone is used around the screw holes and outside.

It does not include the leads, it just has the terminals on the back. It is 2" long x 1" wide outside face measurement.

answer 2
1" X 2 " is the outside fascia of the unit, what is not listed in the description is the depth of the insertion which is about 2" deep. The terminals are standard spade terminals at the back of that insertion.
