The Makita Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery is designed for 12v Makita tools. Northern Tool recommends to check directly with Makita to ensure that the model number tool you are using would be compatible with this battery. The Ah(Ampere-hour) is essentially a measure of the total amount of power available in the battery itself. A 1.3 Ah battery will deliver the equivalent of a 1 amp output for 1.3 hours.

No, the DC1470 would not work with this battery. You can use Makita's Universal Charger model #DCRASE, which runs on standard household current. Northern Tool does not currently sell that model, but does sell a 12 volt model. See link below for more information.
