answer 3
Adjust your nozzle size rather than your machine.
Unless you're blasting steel, 4.5 (2500 psi) or 5.0 (2000 psi) orifice nozzles will do the trick. Go bigger if you want less pressure.

I have not tried to adjust the pressure valve, but I was easily able to reduce the engine RPM slightly to bring the pressure down to 2500 psi.

From CAT tech line: "it is fine to reduce the pump RPM. It can operate down to 100 RPM." - reduce RPM - reduces PSI

You can install a pressure gauge anywhere in the discharge line of the system between the pump and the nozzle. I would recommend that you install a 3/8" tee at the discharge port of the pump between the pump and the quick disconnect (where you hook up the hose). Make sure that you use fittings that are rated for the pressure used and burst pressure rated for at least 1.5x working pressure. Hydraulic fittings can normally be used for these types of applications. I would use stainless steel. You'll never have to worry about them. Make sure you use Teflon tape or thread sealant when installing.

The gauge does go on the outlet side of the pump. You would connect the gauge first, and then your hose. The fittings needed will depend on your pump. We do have a quick couple gauge that works great. Please see below...

answer 3
I would put a 3/8" diameter tee on there with a quick connect adapter from northern tool.
I would not recommend leaving it on the machine while your using the machine due to vibration would just keep throwing the gages calibration off.
if you do it this way you can store the gage away from the machine like in your toolbox and when you want to regulate the pressure just use your quick disconnect already on your machine and attach your home made quick connect gage tool there.
Please use good judgment in safety practices because you are dealing with high pressure and if that gage is pressurized while in place you will need a way to bleed the pressure off of the gage if you dont use a tee.
If it were me I would get a gel filled 5000 psi gage and make a 3 way quick disconnect and ask northern tool for a short piece of hi pressure hose rated for your machine and loop it up to where the nozzles are stored drill an extra hole and put another quick disconnect there for your gage this will be out of the way and look very professional.
Hope this helped!

There could be a few reasons this is happening, to accurately determine what the problem is...

Carefully remove the hose barb holding the hose, inside there should be a spring, an o-ring, and a ball valve.

1. The spring may be broken, used, or worn and needs to be replaced.

2. The o-ring may be damaged or worn and need to be replaced.

3. The ball valve may be pitted or worn and need to be replaced.

If this is the case please contact NorthStar for the replacement parts at phone number 1-800-270-0810.

There is a check valve (little steel ball) and a spring inside the connection for the chemical draw. That is what prevents chemical from being drawn up under high pressure.

It's possible your spring is weak/too strong or the ball is not seating properly. I would take in to the store to be examined/repaired.

No, the chemical injector on this NorthStar pressure washer does not adjust for controlling the cleaning solution intake, however, you can dilute/concentrate the solution before applying it for use.

answer 2
On my pressure washer, the ratio of water to cleaning solution is not adjustable. I had to put the chemical hose into a known quantity of water and measure how long it took for it to completely empty. Then I was able to figure the ratios assuming 4 gallons per minute of input flow into the pressure washer.

Be sure and use the chemical nozzle as it won't work with any of the other nozzles.

This NorthStar Professional Series pressure washer will need a pressurized water source. For this pressure washer the water source will need to fill a 5 gallon bucket in 72 seconds or less. Without enough pressure from the water source pump cavitation will occur and damage the pump.

answer 3
No. The input water pressure / volume must be sufficient to fill a 5 gallon bucket in under 70 seconds. If I go to a friend or neighbors house I alway take a bucket and test their water flow rate before using my pressure washer. You could install a pump between your tank and the pressure washer to provide the proper volume of water.

You have to wrench it off. I blow air through em in reverse to clear em. FYI buy yourself screen filters for your garden hose at every connection to avoid this hassle.

In the video he first used the chemical injector to spray the soap but when he went to wash off the soap he didn't disconnect the soap injection system. Won't that continue to pull soap thru the pressure washer?

When applying soap, you use a low pressure soap nozzle which creates suction and draws the cleaning solution through the hose. In the video he changes to a higher pressure nozzle to clean the solution off, this higher pressure does not create the needed suction to lift the solution through the hose.

answer 2
No. The only time the siphon tube will pick up and inject cleaners is when the low velocity chemical nozzle is installed. When you swap out that nozzel with any of the high velocity nozzles (0 degree thhrough 25 degree) the water moves so fast that the siphon will not pickup detergent. This can be observed by shooting the pavement and observing no foam.
