Being the pressure can be regulated on the washer by adjusting the nozzles, a pressure regulator is not required. We do not recommend adding a pressure regulator and if the unit would be modified to include one, the warranty on the item would be voided.

Question
I have areas in residential cleaning such as boat docks that are far from the house itself. How many feet of garden hose can I run and this product
still be effective? Some docks are hundreds of feet (downhill, and rocky / uneven landscape) from the house. If this is not a good option, what is the easiest "most portable" way to hook this machine up to an alternative water source?

This NorthStar Hot Water Pressure Washer requires a flow rate of at least 3 gpm. The supply hose should have a 3/4” inside diameter (ID) and be no longer than 50 feet. A water pump that provides a water pressure of 20 pounds per square inch (PSI) and a maximum of 125 PSI. The source could be from a tank or lake, and using a shallow well pump would give on demand water. A strainer and water filter would be needed. Be sure to check local laws.

Northern Tool does sell turbo nozzles that would work with this unit. The wand included uses 1/4" NPT fittings, and would require an adapter to accept the 1/4" quick coupler on the turbo nozzle. See links below.
