Being I'm an electrician, I would not use an extenison cord on a 30 Amp 240 volt motor, you should use a longer high pressure hose

We recommend that this unit be plugged directly into an outlet and not used with an extension cord. To increase the usable range of the unit we offer longer hose that could be used in combination with or in place of the existing hose. See link below.

This NorthStar Electric cold water pressure washer with Cat pump is not recommended for anything besides cold water. We do offer an add on water heater, which heats the water after it goes through the pump. Check out my product recommendations below.

The manual says the unit can be used with water up to 140 degrees F. I have installed 3/4" lines with check valves and a tee but seldom have needed to use the hot water alone (my hot water tank is set well below 140 degrees).

A very dependable, totally enclosed fan cooled Leeson motor coupled with an industrial grade CAT pump provide a top of the line electric pressure washer. The CAT pump uses long lasting ceramic plungers, has a heavy duty housing, thermal overload protection, easy start pressure system, chemical injector and an adjustable pressure regulator. Simply put, this will provide more hours of use and a longer lifespan.

Not sure specifically but I know that the actual CAT pump head on this unit is top quality and would expect that piece to be driving the price.

There are no options available to convert this Northstar Pressure Washer to a 20 amp. I would recommend looking at item#1573011 which runs on 120 volt, 20 amp circuit. See below for product details.

answer 2
Absolutely NO! The energy needed has to come from somewhere. At 240 Volts, the only variable is the current and it will draw plenty. Power = Volts x Amps

I'm using a 50 Amp welder circuit that I attached a 30 Amp plug to. Don't think you can avoid a circuit meant for this machine. You can't.

I don't have a DB meter, but the pump is fairly loud when you're right next to it. I wear ear protection, but it's not nearly as loud as a typical gasoline engine. The steady drone of the motor is also less irritating than the clang of a gas engine.

The motor and pump do not have a start stop switch to turn it off when not spraying and on when spraying, it does have a thermal protector valve to protect the pump from any damage when sitting for long periods of time that discharges the hot water and flows cool water into the pump.

answer 2
No it doesn't. I trigger the wand before I hit the power switch and keep it triggered as I turn the pump off. That way, the pump always has an outlet for the power the motor is supplying. Admittedly, this can be a bit awkward, but it works for me.

This NorthStar electric pressure washer is engineered for 230 voltage. By running this on 208 voltage you will lower the horsepower, and risk a higher current draw, and an increase in heating. This will void the warranty.

This NorthStar pressure washer has a 5 HP 230 volt motor. At 230 volts, a single phase motor draws approximately 5 amps per horsepower. This puts this unit at approximately 25 amps and 5,750 watts.
Amps X Voltage = Watts

You would want to have a 30 amp dedicated circuit to run this.
