answer 2
Yes, this machine will work with the extra hose without a noticeable change in pressure.

In fact, most of the time I am using it connected to a 100 feet hose, and works great.

I am using a pressure meter to monitor the pressure and basically I can't perceive a change when I switch from the included 25 ft hose to the 100ft.

answer 3
Yes, I've used up to 130 additional footage. just make sure you blow out line every time before you attach the wand. Many times, I've had to unclog my nozzle tip because I neglected to wash out the hose extension. Sometimes dust, critters, rust, etc. gets in there and causes more problems to correct than to take the time to connect the extra hose and blow water thru prior to adding the gun and pressuring up.

No, it does not cut-off automatically, but it has a built in by-pass that does just fine. If you definetly want an auto shut-off, you better look at another unit.

Not as long as you have the appropriate breaker, wiring, and receptacle. 20 amp breaker, at least 12awg wiring, and 20 amp receptacle. I'm using that configuration and it works great.

Yes, but on the continuous run models, no bypass pressure switch, it can cause it to blow your seals if you leave it unattended for more than 20-25 mins. It's best to shut it off immediately if you're using hot water instead of cold to avoid unintentional damage. Also, make sure your water heater isn't set above 160 degrees. Precautions and temp limits are in the owners manual.

The chemical injector and the low pressure nozzle cannot be adjusted or proportioned. When using the chemical injector, it will draw a water to soap ratio of approximately 10 to 1.

The chemical injector on all NorthStar pressure washers is low pressure. A low pressure nozzle (included) will siphon soap from a container via a small hose(also included). The chemical injector will only siphon when used with the low pressure soap nozzle, but Northern does sell a high pressure soap shooter as an accessory. See link below for more information.

Question

How long can you let it idle safely?

I have this until and I wash our cars frequently. It's common to use it intermittently while washing. I'm paranoid so I always run back to the unit and turn the power off when I'm not pulling the trigger. How long can I safely let it sit with the power on but the trigger not engaged (i.e. running but without water coming out the gun)?

The PSI on the NorthStar pressure washer can not be changed, but by using the black nozzle, the operating PSI would be 200 - 300. This is the lowest setting that is available and the pump will not provide less than 1.5 GPM for proper operation.
