From what I have read, the pressure washer needs a minimum of 20 lbs. of water pressure. If you can deliver that to the washer it should run. We use it connected to a municiple water source.

The pressure washer requires a pressurized source of water. Typically when using a tank for your water source we would recommend that you use a water pump to put between the tank and the pressure washer. If you do have the water tank above the pressure washer it would work on a gravity feed but needs to have a volume of 2.5GPM continuously coming into the pressure washer.

answer 3
You'll want to put a transfer pump on the discharge bung of the tank. You never want the pump to pick-up it's water by creating it's own vacuum pressure. It will wear out the pump real fast. The only way to not use a transfer pump is if the tank is mounted higher than the pump so the water is flowing down to the pump.

No, this NorthStar pressure washer does not have the automatic shut off feature, it runs continuously until you turn the motor switch to the off position.

No it doesn't shut off. It's equipped with a nice 3 piston pump, and commercial motor. It's ok to let it run for a minute while moving around, but it doesn't have a large by-pass circuit. I just turn it off whenever I'm moving around.

The NorthStar Electric Cold Water Pressure Washer will work with a soap or chemical tank. The unit has a downstream soap/chemical injector with a feeder tube that, when placed into a separate tank or bucket, will draw the soap and mix it with the pressurized water. The unit is not available with a tank, and would need to be provided on your own.

I just put the jug of cleaner on the cart, run the soap hose into the top. Works great. You could fab a bracket to hold the jug. That way you wouldn't have to fill a separate tank, just replace the jug with a fresh one.

This cold water pressure washer includes a thermal protector which keeps the pump from overheating when the trigger on the gun is not pressed. The thermal protector will protect the pump for a short amount of time(30 seconds or less). If you won't be pressure washing for longer than that amount of time, it's necessary to shut off the pressure washer/motor.

No, this NorthStar pressure washer is not approved to be ran at 230 Volts, re-wiring the pressure washer would void the warranty.

We offer a few different models that run on 230 Volts, please see my product recommendations listed below...

The thermal protection in this pressure washer is a valve that will open when the internal water temperature in the pump exceeds 140 degrees F. to prevent damage to the pump components. This feature does not shut the machine down.
