This Northern Industrial mortising attachment has an opening that measures 2-9/16 inches in diameter without a bushing installed.

This mortising attachment will fit the following diameters of spindle sliding bush ranges: 52.5mm (2-1/16") , 55mm (2-3/16"), 58mm (2-5/16"), and 60mm (2-3/8"). It will not fit a 47mm quill.

Question

Does the chisel holder accept a chisel with a 3/4" diameter?

How big a chisel shank diameter will this unit accept? I'm not talking about my drill press chuck - I mean the mounting hole for the chisel portion of the mortising bit. I would like to use a 3/4" chisel/bit set that has a 3/4" diameter shank on the chisel and am wondering if it will fit in this unit.

No, this will not accept a chisel with a 3/4" diameter. The maximum size is 5/8".
