This winch is made to have the crank handle on one side only it cannot be changed to the other side. The mounting base is 3 7/8" wide and bolt spacing is from center of rear hole to center of middle hole 2 1/4" and to center of front hole is 3 1/4".

This winch will free spool if there is no pressure on the handle when the ratchet is placed in the unwind position.

Yes, it will. There is up, down spring loaded teeth and the middle is free fall
