Yes, Put the ratchet switch on the higher position and turn the crank handle clockwise to pull. Put the ratchet switch on the lower position and turn the crank handle counterclockwise to release.

Is there a locking mechanism? If I'm pulling up a slight incline, must I hold the crank to prevent the load from rolling back?

The mounting plate is 4 11/16" L x 3 1/4" W. The front hole is 3/8" in diameter and the rear hole is a slot 3/8" x 1 1/4" and they are 3" apart center of hole to center of hole.

Question

Length of Crank Handle

How far below the winch base does the crank handle extend, i.e., how many inches from the bottom of the base to the bottom of the handle when the handle is at it's lowest point?

I need to build a customized base for pickup truck bed and need to know how much room is needed for clearing the handle when it turns.
