The wire clips can be used to charge the battery if it is dead. The battery on the All Power Generator will recharge while while the generator is running, so remove the battery clips while running the generator.

The All Power generator can be used with a trickle charger to match the type of battery included. The generator will have some oil in the unit but it is advised to check the unit before use to see if additional oil is needed. This should be done before each use.

Question

Amps & water heater & rain/snow

Does it have enough amps to run an electric hot water heater with the water heater being 30 amps and 4500 watts? Also since you have to run this outside of your house during rain and snow, can you build a shelter around it as long as it has enough ventilation?

Yes, generator would be able to handle a water heater that puts out 4500 watts. Also, the 120/240 twist lock receptacle is 30 amps. If left outside in rain or snow you would definitely want to have it sheltered. It may get damaged if it gets wet.

You could have an electrician set up the generator with a transfer switch kit. Item #100022 could be used with this generator. The transfer panel would be wired to your circuit breakers and the raintight box would be put on the outside of the house. Then when your electric is out you just run the cord from the generator to the raintight box and start up the generator. You can then select what circuits you want to run.
