answer 3
The unit is designed to fold up when stored. It takes a little bit of time to fold the unit up, so you should not consider folding it up if you use it regularly. However, when fully folded up. It measures approximately 32" wide (side to side), 18" deep (front to back), and is approximately 6' tall.
In the folded position it is supported by the two rear wheels, and a "fold down metal leg" located at the front side of the base unit. You have to manually secure this metal leg with a screw so the metal leg doesn't fold up and cause the crane to tip over.
Just the fact that the unit CAN FOLD UP is a huge bonus compared to other such units without this feature.

Question

how much travel distance does it have.

Among other intended uses, I was thinking of using this as a lawn mower lift for blade changes

I use mine to lift push style 22" lawn mowers on my bench for service, an 8 HP 24" cut snowblower, pretty much anything like that. The key is to make up some lift chains or slings in pairs. I've got a pair of 12", 24" and 36" chains that I made up with bulk chain and hooks, a slip hook on one end and a grab hook on the other. Besides the chain and hook that it comes with I picked up a 3/8" chain swivel and fitted it with a 3/8" slip hook which gives me a lot of flexibility to rotate the part that I'm picking up. Balance and practice are the key. After you play with it for a while you will come up with methods that work for you. As far as picking up a lawn mower you could use a set of the nylon tie down straps, hooking one in each corner behind the wheels and pick it up that way. They aren't heavy, just be sure to never let the strap pull against something sharp without a pice of cardboard or some other form of protection to prevent it from shearing.

The fixed wheels on the front of the legs are 4 1/2 inches, so the legs are at least that high off the ground
