The wheels on the Genie Lift are not adjustable so that the forks would extend past the wheels.

The normal position of the front wheels is 28" in front of the rear wheels. Moving them behind the end of the forks would risk causing the unit to tip forward.

No, you need to be able to slide the lift under something. Like a pick-up tailgate. However, when I can't do this. I just push it up to wall and align the height with the platform. I can then slide most objects, if they are not too heavy onto the lift.
