Pretty easy. You have to drill 2 holes in the top framing on each side and 1 hole in the tailgate on each side

It's as easy as reading the instructions, and drilling the mounting holes, and running a ratchet. Be sure to follow the hint for attaching to the gates, as it will probably save you having to drill a 2nd set of holes.

I didn't have any problems with installing the system. The biggest thing that you have to make sure your doing right, is marking the holes prior to drilling. Drilling the holes is really the hardest part of the whole install. Good Luck~

extremely easy, if you have a drill, bits and wrenches install is a snap, shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. Once you get the jest of installation on the 1st one, the 2nd is a breeze.

answer 2
the rails are 6 ft long and made in two 3 ft sections. They are made of 2 X 2 square tubing with a mounting bolt hole at each end.
On my 6 X 10 trailer I had a truck box tool box mounted over the side rail and fender on one side. To install the lift rail on that side I modified the box mounts to raise the box 2 inches so now it rests just above thelift rail.

hello,
You will need 6' of flat top rail to mount the lift spring/cable holder. It needs to be near the rear of the trailer.

answer 4
I want to say they are 6 ft long, maybe 2-3 foot sections. Trimmer racks shouldn't be an issue, since the bolts go thru the inside of the tube. I have trimmer racks on mine, as well as back pack blower racks and I had no issues, but it is sure a back saver after a long day of mowing

Yes it can. Although I would see if there is anyway you can get a weight of the individual gates so you will know if this sytem will work for you.

This can be mounted to an enclosed trailer. It would be the same as for a utility trailer only that the lift would mount to an "L" bracket.

answer 2
You will have to review the instructions. It comes with several brackets for mounting to the walls of enclosed trailers. I own a utility, so I have no experience with enclosed. This system should work really well on your gate(s) because they are typically much lighter than those on older utility trailers.

Question

Does it work on a horizontal hinged gate?

i have a 14' x 6.5' trailer with a ramp gate that is hinged in the middle horizontally. when you lower the gate the hinge opens out as if your leg was folded tight to your body and hinges like your knee. Will it work on this type of gate and do you mount to the section going "up"to the hinge or the other gate section that will be farthest from the trailer when lowered?

It will work on hinged gates as long as it is not over 6 feet. The mounting depends on the size of the gate. It could be either place.

answer 2
I mounted mine to a four foot long gate that folded in the middle. The cable anchor bolt was located by unfolding the gate and with the gate locked upright to the trailer, finding the point on the leaf furthest from the trailer where the cable could attach without putting tension on the springs. To lower the gate I fold the leaf to the upright position before unlocking the gate and then pull the gate down in the unfolded position. To raise the gate, just pick up with one hand, close and secure the gate and then fold the rear leaf down. The cable will be slack in the folded position.

The gorilla lift can be mounted to a round side rail, however the hardware that is included may not be long enough, and you will have to do some spot welding.

answer 2
If you welded a piece of flatstock to the round rail first to mount the square tubes on it could work. You would have to mark your holes for the square tubing drill and tap them to attatch square tube to the flatstock I would use 1/4" flatstock and make sure they are welded on good! The other option would be to bolt all the way thru flatstock and round rail because they supply a carrige bolt that is 2"-1/2" to 3" long.
