Yes, this winch will work in extreme cold temperatures. Keep in mind that this winch requires power from the vehicle battery, and the vehicle battery may have lower capacity in extreme cold temps.

Used it in February with temps -22 F. No question this thing is hardy. I have a 100' steep driveway at 9,500' altitude in the Rockies (normal snowfall 6-7'). I clear my driveway and my neighbors dozens of times every Winter used two seasons with zero problems.

Have had no problems at all concerning the cold weather, my weather here stays between 10- to 28+ from 11/25 till 3/15 yearly

Not sure what you consider waterproof, but I have completely submurged my winch and quad (by accident, ha ha) and the winch still works fine.
