Superwinch recommends a 1/4" diameter wire rope with a breaking strength of 7000 lbs. You can pick these up a a local auto parts store.

The crane winch's do not include the wire rope. It can handle up to 50' of 1/4" wire rope. Part #SW1577A can be ordered additionally.
