This Northern Industrial marine winch can be mounted permanently or used as a portable winch by slipping over your trailer hitch ball.

Yes it will slip over hitch ball with supplied mounting. This is only a temporary mount and can easly fall off when slackend line occures

With the one I have you have to manualy release the clutch to free spool line out, and again manualy retighten the clutch to pull or winch in the line.

The Northern Industrial 12 Volt Portable Marine Winch is rated to move a load from a dead stop of up to 2000 lbs on level ground, up to 5000 lbs in marine use, and 6000 rolling lbs. While the unit is not completely waterproof(it cannot be submerged), it is weatherproof(can get wet).
