The rated capacity of this pulley block is 8000 lbs. An 8000 lb winch is actually capable of pulling 16,000 lbs when the line is doubled. I would recommend that you find a pulley block with a capacity of at least 16,000 lbs. It is extremely important to follow the rated capacity of all of the equipment in a winching situation as failure of any component can be dangerous or even deadly. See link below for a snatch block that is rated at 20,000 lb capacity.
