Belt and two variable pitch pulleys work together as a clutch and variable transmission. Weatherproof system is completely mechanical and can be mounted in any position. Unique design allows automatic infinite variation and smooth shifting action between the systems high and low range in response to changing loads and travel conditions. Maximum 8 HP. NOTE: Briggs & Stratton changed the bolt pattern on some 8 HP engines, so you may need to make an adaptor to fit these converters to your application. U.S.A. The torque converter changes the ratio from engine crank shaft to the jack shaft.
The belt and two variable pitch pulleys work together as a clutch and variable transmission. The unique design allows automatic infinite variation and smooth shifting action between the systems high and low range in response to changing loads and travel conditions. Your 6 hp will work great.

The Torque converter kits Northern offers will work with your Comet 30 Series. The torque converter belt must be a 30 series and those are also available.

This converter kit is designed to fit a variety of mini bikes.If the bore and sprocket size are the same in the kit as it is on the bike it is replacing it should work.

What size bore is the Driven unit of this kit?

My engine is a 3/4" drive, but I'd like to use this with a jack shaft for a go kart which is 5'8" bore, and wondering if this will fit my kart before placing order. Thanks

Crankshaft bore is 3/4, the jack shaft bore is 5/8.

The output shaft will run CCW and the input shaft will run CW on the converter kit.
