Manual transfer switch is recommended
Ampage really depends on what all you are wanting to run with it. 30 amp for small stuff, 50 for more breakers

The Stanley All-Weather Generator is not designed to be converted to run on propane. Northern Tool does sell propane powered portable generators. Please see links below for a few.
