The Bead Breaker on this Northern Industrial tire changer will help break the seal between the tire and the rim. The bead breaker does not remove the tire from rim, only aids in breaking the seal.

bead breaker is what is folded against main shaft in photo. You use breaker bar in it for force.

It certainly does. You have to put the tire on the floor to use this feature. That's a little awkward but not bad. After the bead is broken, then you remove the tire.

The "manual" is 4-pages of which 1 3/4 pages are the usual drivel containing warnings about alcohol, goggles, gloves, etc. etc. etc...

Absolutely. I did have to modify the "go back on" end of the tool so it would work better though. Now it works great.

I use soapy water with mine. I don't know why you would damage aluminum if you're careful.
