These couplers are not rated for any given tongue weight. As long as the gross wight of your trailer does not exceed the 24,000 lb capacity the item will work.

Question

What are the dimensions of the upper tube and the telescoping lengths.

I am curious about the tube diameter as I may be replacing a square tube hitch with a round piece.

No, this could not be used for that application. We do not have a product that would convert your 5th wheel to a goose neck.
