Used it this winter on a snowblower chute and had no problems. Have another on mounted to a leaf vac that sits out in the rain in fall and have had no problems with that one either.

Question

IS constant power harmful

This unit would be operated off a souce signal with no feed back so when power is applied to unit 1 the 12v signal will be sent until unit 1 turns off. Possibly all day.

The switch you will need to purchase to use our Wel-Bilt Linear Actuators is a double pole, double throw (reverse polarity) switch which at this time we do not carry and you can purchase locally. We do carry 2 models that have a faster travel time, check out my product recommendations below. You will need to check the dimensions and specifications on these items, they are different then the one above.

This Wel-Bilt linear actuator extends/retracts at 8 millimeters per second, so at a 3-15/16 stroke it could take approximately 12.5 seconds to extend/retract.
