Question

Can this work in a hot and humid environment?

I'm thinking of installing this within a greenhouse where it will be hot and humid sometimes. The pump would be protected from direct water contact. Can this pump handle these conditions?

This Flotec PRESSUREMATE Home Pressure System can be used in a hot and humid environment. The manufacturer recommends if you will be using this pump for long periods of time, under direct sunlight, to use a form of shelter to protect from the sun. Also, this pump is not intended to make direct water contact.

Staff Answer
When installed and before plugging in to power outlet, you simply open a faucet to release pressure from pipes allowing water to flow to the pump. When water flows freely from the faucet the pump is primed and ready to plug in to outlet and use. Pump should not need priming again unless water to the house is cutoff at some point and then restored. In that case unplug pump and repeat above process.

This would hook up directly to the lines. You want a check valve on the intake side and less than 50 incoming pounds. The check valve would be purchased locally.

The pump included in this home pressure system should be installed in line before any softeners and purifiers. For example, the water reaches the softener or purifier after being transferred by this pump first.

The home pressure system does have a starting pressure dial that allows you to set the system from 15 - 45 PSI. The pump will start automatically when the system pressure drops below the pressure point which you have set on the “Starting Pressure” dial.
