Question

Wire from power inlet to transfer switch

This kit includes the transfer switch and an external power inlet. The included cord I assume is to connect the generator to the power inlet.
What type of wire is necessary to connect from the the power inlet and the switch(I assume that's not included) . What are the requirements for that wire (i.e.- size/gauge).
thanks.

The wiring to connect the inlet box to the transfer switch itself is not included in the Reliance Controls Transfer Switch Kit. The minimum wire size recommended is a 12 gauge, 3 wire grounded wire.

answer 2
They recommend a minimum of 12 gauge. I got a length of 4 strand 12 gauge wire from my hardware store. (One cable with 4 wires inside, each of the 4 wires is 12 ga.)
